Before the clock strikes 12.00:01am to mark the beginning of 3rd May, I’m writing this post to symbolize the presence of a new blogsphere member - MyTwentyFive.com, created by a not-so-freshie-anymore blogger ![]()
Today is 2.5.08, the date which MyTwentyFive.com is scheduled to embark on its web presence, to print one of the most significant facts in the diary of this blog. Ok, to satisfy your curiosity, these are some of the interesting bits leading to the emergence of MyTwentyFive.com:
- MyTwentyFive.com domain name is bought on 30th Apr 2008, 2 days before its scheduled launch
- 2.5 (2nd May) is my birthday (yup… it’s my birthday today, and I’m on leave
) - I’m officially turning 25 today (wish me happy birthday la… if you haven’t hahaha)
- Coincidentally, I’ve received 2 x 25 birthday greeting SMSes today
Just in case if you’re wondering; no no no, I’m definitely not migrating to MyTwentySix.com and the like for the following years hahaha.
Actually, at first I was planning to get 25.com, composed of numerical number instead of spelled-out word. However, when I get a quick opinion from George, the first feedback he given me was “ee hm cai” (Cantonese). In Cantonese dialect, 2 5 (individual number) is pronounced as “ee hm“; ee for 2 and hm for 5. But when applied with a little bit more of creativity, it’s not hard for people to relate “ee hm” with a Cantonese phrase - “ee hm cai“, which means betrayer or double-crosser.
Wah…. as George could easily manipulate the pronunciation of 25.com in his first response, it wouldn’t take much efforts for others as well.
“hehehe… better not”
So, I decided to spell out the numbers instead, and registered with MyTwentyFive.com for my new blogging home (TwentyFive.com is not available).
Where was My Previous Blogging Ground?
I’m saying that MyTwentyFive.com is my new blogging home. So, you might have a question - “where’s your old blogging home?”
My real name is written in the header of this blog. To some Malaysian bloggers who have been participating in the blogsphere for more than 2 years, you might have seen my name some where. If my name doesn’t appear familiar to you, what about this blog (http://tiensoon.blogspot.com)?
Yes, I’m Tien Soon from http://tiensoon.blogspot.com. I was quite actively writing there for 3 years, from 2004 to mid 2007.
Go to the About page to learn more about me.
Unfortunately, due to ever busier working life, the devilish side of me has came out with a number of lame excuses to lessen the frequency of blog keeping, and eventually losing touch with life blogging. Many moments of my life which have marked their presence within the past 1 year, have gone through without being documented in words. At least 6 vacations in 2007-08 have not been written in travelogues.
I must get back to my habit of life log writing, and I’m glad that I’ve taken some initial steps to realize the plan.
Blogsphere, I’m back! ![]()
