Though I slept at 2.30am today’s early morning, but I got to wake up at 8am. My gf and I have an appointment with lawyer, scheduled at 9am.
We had breakfast at Siang Chiang Kopitiam, one of the real old kopitiams in Melaka town which serves delicious steamed and roasted breads at reasonable price. Those franchised kopitiams a bit expensive la hehe.
Why Did I go to Lawyer Firm?
FYI, my gf and I have decided to buy a house in Melaka. It’s a 18-year old single storey semi-D, and We’re buying it as second owner. Yap Koon Roy & Associates (located at Jln Ong Kim Wee) is our representing stakeholder for legal matters, and we were there this morning to sign Form 14 A Land Ownership Transfer. Once both seller and buyer have signed this form, it will be submitted to Pejabat Pengarah Tanah dan Galian for evaluation and approval processing, which is expected to take a month.
The process was very simple. We were given 4 copies of forms, and all we needed to do was, sign sign sign and sign. No choice lo…. we’ve paid for eligibility to sign :p
Once approved, then only buyer and seller will sign the sales agreement.
So far, we’ve already paid RM15,000 down payment, and RM200 legal processing deposit. The accumulation of legal fees was quoted earlier at RM3850.50 (including 5% gov tax).
At least another month down the road, before we can get the house key. A lot more cash is needed, especially for renovation (dare not think of it, though we still have to face it in reality haha)
