I did my flooring for 2k, and mine is engineered hardwood - supposed to be more expensive than laminate, A tip: Do the painting yourself, or get friends to help. 12k is crazy, and if you take 1 weekend a few days leave, you'll get it done for a tiny % of the quoted price. Wiring mine was 2k as well but I put in a hell lot of changes and plug points. For wiring, highly recommend this guy: Mr Phang 019 3204 257. Tell him James from Putramas2 recommend. He is one of the very few qualified electricians with cert who will give you a good price. Most of the other contractors all experience but no cert.
