Yesterday, my girlfriend brought up an idea to go Muar for dinner, as a form of relax :p Well, via the new Melaka – Muar state expressway (toll-free but with a few traffic light junctions along the way), it takes only 30 minutes to reach Muar from my house in Melaka.
So, let’s go for mini food hunting in Muar!
Before departure, we pumped the RM2.70 per liter petrol for the first time. Oouch! First time paying more than RM60 of petrol for Kelisa.
The first stop was Jalan Haji Abu, or better known as the Muar Hungry Lane (wai sek kai in Cantonese). When the sun is setting to welcome the night, there will be a number of hawker stalls lining up by both sides of the 80m road, to satisfy your hungry stomach.
When was your last time you actually ate like this? Sitting on a stool, right at the hawker stall, watching the hawker cook while you were eating. This was a very common scene when I was a kid, but no longer now. And yes, we did that at Muar
